Brighten the holiday season: Join us in donating $10,000 to local families
Some of our neighbors are facing a lean holiday season this year. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent wildfires, many Oregon families have lost stability, their incomes and homes.
With two of the season’s biggest shopping days coming up, why don’t we work together to spread a little holiday cheer for those who have been hit hardest?
We’re partnering with you this holiday season to spread joy. All you need to do is shop for the items that are already on your list. Just use your OCCU credit card on designated seasonal shopping days and we’ll donate a portion of every dollar you spend.
Our goal is to donate $10,000. Will you help us?
Here’s what you need to know:
How does it work?
Any purchases you make on Black Friday (Nov. 27) and Cyber Monday (Nov. 30) will count toward our donation goal. Charge your purchases with your NICE Perks Platinum® VISA®, Duck Card or OSU Beaver Card, and we’ll set aside 10 cents for every dollar you spend to help out families in need.* Donations will support sponsored programs like Holiday Joy though St. Vincent de Paul.
There’s no need to strain your own budget to lend a hand. Just carry on with your planned shopping and we’ll take care of the rest. Every purchase counts, even if you’re shopping online, so you can participate from the safety of your own home.
When should I use my card to participate?
Want to give your holiday gifts extra impact? Mark your calendar for Nov. 27 and Nov 30, 2020. Not only can you snag some great deals on holiday gifts, but your purchases will help give affected families some much-needed relief.
How else can I help support my community?
Your OCCU credit card is a powerful tool for building stronger communities. You can use it to make charitable donations, help support small businesses or lift up families that have fallen on hard times. Learn more about how to give back with your OCCU credit card.
This won’t be a typical holiday season for anyone — but with your help, we can make it a brighter one for our neighbors in need. Reach for your card with community at its core and together we’ll brighten the holiday season.
