Did you know OCCU is not for profit?
In 1956, a group of state employees decided to pool their money in a shoebox and help each other financially. We’ve come a long way since then. We’re now a thriving not-for-profit financial cooperative, and we’ve grown from 26 member-owners to more than 260,000!
We invest money back into the community via scholarships, grants, sponsorships, low to no fees and generous rates. Nonprofit credit unions are owned by their members and represented by a board that YOU vote for.
Just like you, we're here to help the community
- Volunteerism is so important to us that we allow our employees up to 40 hours of paid time each year to volunteer in the community. In 2023 alone, our team volunteered a total of 4,563 hours.
- OCCU Foundation, established in 2018, is committed to helping nonprofits meet critical community needs and advocating for overall health and well-being throughout our region.
- We host and take part in a variety of events throughout the year. We also partner with nonprofits to spotlight their fundraisers and donation drives.
