OCCU is currently accepting applications from members who would like to share their time and talents to help shape the future of our credit union! OCCU has a group of Board Members, Associate Board Members and Supervisory Committee Members, who all share their expertise by contributing their talents, experience, ideas and passion for OCCU and the credit union movement. It’s a very rewarding experience and you could be next!

I chose to join a credit union many years ago because I knew they could offer lower loan rates than the banks. The staff was always friendly, and I felt as though my needs were met, so I decided I’d always work with a credit union for my financial needs. When I moved to Eugene more than 25 years ago, one of the first things I looked for was a local credit union, and that’s when I discovered OCCU (then U-Lane-O). Ten years later, a friend who was on the Supervisory Committee let me know about an open position on that committee. After some consideration, I submitted my application.

Today, I serve on OCCU’s Board of Directors. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve OCCU and our members in this way and have thoroughly enjoyed being an active part of the credit union movement. I have met so many wonderful people, fellow Board and Committee members, management and staff, all with one common vision - helping our members to succeed and our communities to thrive. I have learned so much about credit unions, including how they operate, how they set their goals and how they plan for the future. I am also very proud of how much OCCU, and all credit unions, knowing that we give back to the communities in which we live and work. It has been an extremely rewarding experience to be a part of this team and worth every minute of the time I have spent.

If you are interested in contributing your talents, experience and passion for OCCU and the credit union movement, I suggest that you take a moment to learn more about what Board Service means at OCCU. This has been a very rewarding experience for me and I encourage you to consider if it might be for you as well.
