Join our free homebuying seminar with OCCU mortgage loan representative Tabatha Hernandez-Waters to find out what to expect on your journey to homeownership. Get prequalified. Find out about lender credit requirements — including what credit score will net you the best interest rates — as well as the various home loan programs and assistance available. We’ll also explore some options for making a down payment.
Find the right home. Discover how to know if the home you want is right for you. You’ll learn to calculate how much home you can afford and find out how today’s interest rates can affect your purchasing power.
Make an offer. Once you find the home you want, you’ll know how to place an offer and respond to any counteroffers from the seller. You’ll also understand what’s included in the closing costs and who typically pays which fees.
